 kvh@greenfoxschools.com KVHUSGBC
Kristen von Hoffmann founded Greenfox Schools in March 2008 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kristen graduated from Yale University in 2006 with a B.A. in English and also studied conservation biology, international relations, and agricultural policy. She first developed the Greenfox5 strategy as an undergraduate at Yale University, where she played an integral role in the start-up of the Yale Sustainable Food Project (YSFP). Kristen received a Sudler Creative Arts Scholarship from the University in 2004 to document a semester on the YSFP’s organic farm through photography, interviews, and policy analysis.  After college she started Greenfox and taught elementary school for four years. Currently, Kristen is a member of the K-12 Steering Committee for the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development, a United Nations Compact, as well as a former Board Director for the Boston non-profit ExCL, Extras for Creative Learning. In May 2009 she was invited to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, to contribute to the global Transformative Education Forum. The oldest of three daughters, Kristen was raised in MontclairNew Jersey, where she attended the Montclair Cooperative School and Montclair Public Schools.

Ashlee Dahlberg, Co-Director
Ashlee Dahlberg has been involved in Greenfox Schools since its inception.  A passionate environmentalist, she graduated from Williams College in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies.  During college, Ashlee was involved in several environmental initiatives. In 2005, she interned for the Williamstown COOL Committee where she compiled data on the eCO2 emissions of the town and college, and created a Climate Action Plan to reduce emissions.  Later, she played an integral role in creating the Hoosic River Watershed Association Recreational Assessment, evaluating water quality and appropriate recreational activities.  Ashlee completed her Master’s in Education at Lesley University in 2010.  She spent several years teaching elementary school before shifting into her current role as Greenfox Schools Co-Director.  Ashlee combines her strength in curriculum development, experience in environmental research, and love of children to perpetuate the mission of Greenfox Schools.  Raised in rural Idaho, Ashlee enjoys being in the outdoors and spending time with her husband, Ethan.

Grace Vaziri, Greenfox5 Liaison (University of California, Berkeley)

Grace Vaziri is a sophomore at University of California, Berkeley, studying forestry and conservation. In the summer of 2010 Grace volunteered on the Prairie Flower, a native seed and plant nursery in rural northwest Iowa, where she met Kristen von Hoffmann and subsequently became involved with Greenfox Schools. In high school, Grace founded a school-wide ecology club. During her freshman year at UC Berkeley, Grace was accepted into a prestigious environmental seminar called the Global Environmental Theme House (GETH). Through the program, she established valuable relationships with professors on campus in all fields of environmental science, including Environmental Economics and Policy, Rangeland Management, and Forestry and Spider Biology. Her experience with GETH was augmented with classes in general chemistry, plant biology, ecosystem ecology, forestry, statistics, and calculus.
