The Greenfox5 model is an easy way for young people to
understand sustainability issues. It is a holistic model that breaks down the
aspects of sustainability into five easy to understand categories: Products, Food, Energy, Waste, and Greenspace. This allows students to
see the big picture, while providing them a framework to think creatively
within those categories to problem solve and create innovative solutions.
Greenfox Schools believes that these categories are the five main functional points in schools that can be optimized to benefit the environment, and taught to students to
explain sustainability. PFEWG™ is an acronym we also use to express the model based on the five categories.
