Kristen von Hoffmann, Founder and Chair

Kristen von Hoffmann founded Greenfox Schools in March 2008 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kristen graduated from Yale University in 2006 with a B.A. in English and also studied conservation biology, international relations, and agricultural policy. She first developed the Greenfox5/PFEWG model as an undergraduate at Yale, where she played an integral role in the start-up of the Yale Sustainable Food Project (YSFP). Kristen received a Sudler Creative Arts Scholarship from the University in 2004 to document a semester on the YSFP’s organic farm through photography, interviews, and policy analysis.  After college she started Greenfox and taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade for four years. Currently, Kristen is a member of the K-12 Steering Committee for the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development, a United Nations Compact, as well as a former Board Director for the Boston non-profit ExCL, Extras for Creative Learning. In May 2009 she was invited to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland,to contribute to the Global Transformative Education Forum. Currently, Kristen is working full time as a public administrator for the City of Cambridge as the Sustainability Manager for the Cambridge Public School District, where she's implementing sustainability for the district. The oldest of three daughters, Kristen was raised in Montclair, New Jersey, where she attended the Montclair Cooperative School and Montclair Public Schools.

Ashlee Dahlberg
Boston, Massachusetts
Ashlee Dahlberg has been involved in Greenfox Schools since its inception.  A passionate environmentalist, she graduated from Williams College in 2006 with a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies.  During college, Ashlee was involved in several environmental initiatives. In 2005, she interned for the Williamstown COOL Committee where she compiled data on the eCO2 emissions of the town and college, and created a Climate Action Plan to reduce emissions.  Later, she played an integral role in creating the Hoosic River Watershed Association Recreational Assessment, evaluating water quality and appropriate recreational activities.  Ashlee completed her Master’s in Education at Lesley University in 2010.  She spent several years teaching elementary school before shifting into her current role as Greenfox Schools Director.  Ashlee combines her strength in curriculum development, experience in environmental research, and love of children to perpetuate the mission of Greenfox Schools.  Raised in rural Idaho, Ashlee enjoys being in the outdoors and spending time with her husband, Ethan.  

Brooke Beebe
Denver, Colorado
Brooke Beebe graduated with a B.A. in History and French from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She recently completed a Masters in Education from the Colorado Arts Institute/Argosy University. She is currently a kindergarten teacher at Vail Mountain School in Vail, Colorado. Brooke has been teaching children for six years. She has been interested in helping save the environment since high school and tries to instill these values into her students each year.
 



Ethan Dahlberg
Boston, Massachusetts
Ethan Dahlberg is a consultant for OC&C Strategy Consultants, a global management consulting firm.  Over the past four years at OC&C, Ethan has worked with corporations, private equity firms, and non-profit organizations on a variety of strategic issues including growth strategy development, commercial due diligence, sales force optimization, and cost reduction / profit improvement.  Ethan graduated from Williams College with a B.A. in Economics.  There he spent a semester studying the Jiminy Peak wind project with a focus on understanding the economic feasibility of ski resorts installing wind turbines to offset a significant portion of their energy use.  Ethan became involved with Greenfox Schools in 2009 as a business advisor and has since expanded his involvement, taking on the role of Treasurer of the Board.        

Kyla O'Neill
San Francisco, California
Kyla O'Neill teaches in a combined kindergarten and first grade classroom at The Berkeley School in Berkeley, California.  She has been teaching elementary school for four years. Kyla is currently earning her California Teaching Credential through the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute and San Francisco State University.  She attended the College of the Holy Cross where she earned a B.A. in Psychology in 2006 with a concentration in Gender Studies.  While in her first year of teaching, Kyla met Kristen von Hoffmann and fondly remembers a series of long, thoughtful conversations about the company now known as Greenfox Schools--then the beginnings of a vision for bringing environmental awareness and support into schools.  With her interest in the curricular piece of Greenfox Schools, during 2008, she worked alongside Kristen and fellow board member, Camille Stevens, to set the foundation for the Greenfox Kids! Magazine.  She looks forward to continuing on in support of Greenfox Schools as a member of the board.  Kyla was born and raised in the Boston area, and currently lives in the Mission district in San Francisco.  She enjoys hearing live music, spending time in her backyard vegetable garden, and photographing the wild west!    

Patrick Ryan
Cambridge, Massachusetts
PatrickPatrick Ryan serves as an independent consultant to non-profit and investment related clients in New England as well as internationally.  Patrick began his financial career in 1998 at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York City, where he assisted senior managing directors 

in the Financial Institutions Group. 

He joined Greenwich, CT-based hedge fund, Tudor Investment Corporation in 1999 where he worked for several years. A love of music beginning at the age of 10 as a violinist and later double bassist, Patrick graduated from the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University in 1998 with an M.A. in Performance, Double Bass-Jazz & Contemporary Studies with Pi Lambda Theta Honors. There, he maintained his interest in the environment attending many conferences on Environmental Law and spending time in the library at NYU’s Environmental Law Review.  Patrick completed his M.B.A from Columbia Business School graduating in 2006. . Among his many interests, Patrick has served on the Board of Advisors, Outward Bound USA since 2001.  Patrick is based in Cambridge, MA where he lives with his wonderful and amazing fiancée, Eliza.



Camille Stevens
Washington, D.C.

Camille Stevens is a second-year graduate student at The George Washington University's Elliott School for International Affairs. She is currently working on a Master's Degree in global communications with a concentration in U.S. Foreign Policy and Latin America. Prior to attending the Elliott School, Camille assisted with events and program coordination at the Joan Shorenstein Center on Press, Politics and Public Policy.  Camille has been a supporter of Greenfox Schools since it's establishment in March 2008. As a member of the Greenfox Schools Board of Directors, Camille will continue to aid the organization and spread its message throughout the Washington, D.C. area.   
  
David Temple
New York, New York
David Temple founded People Powered Machines over 13 years ago. People Powered Machines is dedicated to providing solutions to manage lawn, garden, and home needs with ecologically sound and carbon-neutral products. People Powered Machines offers over 80 machines and tools, most of which are 100% people powered and kid friendly. Recently, David started NaturCut USA, the purveyor of NaturCut reel push mowers which are lightweight, easy to push and, of course, quiet. David was previously a teacher who taught 4th graders and coached upper school children for 15 years. David feels strongly that the GreenFox 5 are essential in learning how to restore health to the earth.
