Greenfox Club at Prospect Hill AcademyCambridge, MassachusettsThe Greenfox Team is leading a Greenfox Club at Prospect Hill Academy, a charter high school in Cambridge, MA. These high school students will focus on
sustainability initiatives within their school and in the Cambridge
Community. Most recently they are running an Upcycling Program with the
Greenfox5 Club in partnership with Terracycle to collect and recycle markers, pens, and other writing utensils that would otherwise be thrown away. Cambridge Community SchoolsCambridge, Massachusetts, Fall 2010 Greenfox Schools staff is teaching Greenfox5 curriculum in several after school program classes to K - 6 Cambridge public school students. The programs are located at the Tobin School and King Open School. The curriculum is a 10-12 week program that implements lessons and activities in the categories of the Greenfox5: Energy, Waste, Food, Products, and Greenspace. Partnering with CitySprouts, a local non-profit providing sustainable school yards, Greenfox is utilizing the school gardens to teach about compost and organic gardening. The gardens provide a wonderful outdoor classroom and learning environment. Students are also learning about renewable energy sources, recycling, food chains, and much more.
Greenfox5 Clubs in Higher Education United States The mission of the Greenfox5 club is to inspire leadership and education in the field of sustainability, to improve campus life and promote hands-on community service, and to benefit the environment. Students lead sustainability service projects on campus and in their surrounding community in each category of the Greenfox5: Energy, Waste, Food, Products, and Greenspace. The Greenfox5 club partners with community members and existing environmental groups on campus to unite students, faculty, staff, and local residents in a holistic effort to create a sustainable campus.
